A drug investigation in Moore County led to a large seizure of methamphetamine in Moore County and another large seize of methamphetamine and marijuana in Union County, said Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter.

On Wednesday, Officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Selective Enforcement Unit arrested Amador Villa Flores, 24, of 5018 Edith Oak Road, Wingate, in the Town and County Shopping Center, Aberdeen. Officers located and seized approximately 455 grams, or one pound, of methamphetamine and $522.

The estimated street value of the methamphetamine seized is $46,000.

Flores was charged with two counts of felony trafficking in methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle to keep controlled substance, and misdemeanor resisting a law enforcement officer.

Flores received a $100,000 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County Detention Center.

The Aberdeen Police Department and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division also assisted in the arrest.

The investigation continued after the arrest in Moore County in a joint operation with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe Police Department, and the Marshville Police Department in Marshville, North Carolina. A search was conducted at a residence located at 1120 Unarco Road in Marshville. Officers located and seized an additional pound of methamphetamine, $8,975 in U. S. currency, and four firearms.

Officers arrested two suspects, Antonio Gaytan Lopez, 29 of 1120 Unarco Road, Marshville, of Marshville, and Octavio Valdez Villa, 26, of 409 East Village Drive, of Monroe, North Carolina.

Antonio Gaytan Lopez was charged with felony conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, and two counts of felony trafficking in methamphetamine. His bond is set at $500,500 secured.

Octavio Valdez Villa was charged with felony conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, two counts of felony trafficking in methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $500,000.

The investigation continued into Thursday, with a search of a residence located at 6215 East Lawyers Road, north of Marshville, North Carolina. Officers located and seized 745 pounds of packaged marijuana and four firearms.

Alton Devonne Greene was arrested at this residence.

The estimated street value of the marijuana seized is $3.2 million.

Greene was charged with felony trafficking in marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep/sell controlled substances, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $500,000.
