A traffic stop on Wednesday lead to a search warrant and the discovery drugs and guns in Watsonville, according to the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team.

The Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force conducted a traffic stop at 3:17 p.m. on a vehicle driven by Adan Nunez- Torres in the area of Green Valley Road and Celia Drive.

Torres was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license and transportation of a controlled substance after a search of his vehicle found crystal methamphetamine.

The case was turned over to the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team and a search warrant was served on a home in the under 50 block of Alegre Drive in Watsonville.

At 5:15 p.m. the SCCACT assisted by agents from Homeland Security Investigations served the warant and found 1.5 pounds of crystal meth, cutting agents, packaging materials, digital scale, a loaded .45 handgun and a reportedly stolen 9mm handgun.

Agents also seized $3,000 in US currency and the street value of the meth is estimated at more than $70,000.

Torres was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail and the HSI also placed an immigration hold on him.
