The West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force have arrested at least five people while serving search warrants at various residences in late January and early February, according to a news release.

Four task force agents executed a search warrant at 293 State Route 187 in Milan on Jan. 28, according to the release. The release said the house was quaranteened by agents.

On Jan. 29 agents arrested the occupant of the residence, Michael Tracy Grimes, 39, at his parent’s residence in Humboldt.

He is charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell a Schedule I controlled substance and possession with intent to sell a Schedule IV controlled substance, according to the release.

The release said that on Feb. 5 task force agents served a search warrant at 23 Trenton Highway in Milan, the home of Daniel Corley, 45, and Donnamarie Chartrand, 42. Both were at home at the time of the search and were arrested without incident, the release said. Corley is charged with initiation of a process to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing, manufacturing a Schedule II controlled substance – meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chartrand is charged with promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The release said that another search warrant was executed on Saturday at #10 Waddell Trailer Park in Humboldt in which the trailer was quaranteened.

The residents, April Hardy, 31, and Russell Treadwell, 38, were both charged with drug offenses. Hardy is charged in a warrant for aggravated child abuse/neglect, manufacture of methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing, possession of drug parapahernalia, simple possession of methamphetamine, initiation of the process to manufacture methamphetamine and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. Treadwell is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, manufacture of methamphetamine, simple possession of drug paraphernalia, initiation of a process to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.

The release said there were 207 meth labs seized in January in the state of Tennessee. This is a 35.29 percent increase from the 153 meth labs seized in January of 2012. January’s 2013 total was also higher than any other month in all of 2012, the release said. The highest number of labs seized in 2012 was in March at 176 labs.
