Comments Off on Midland man arrested for smoking meth, sex with child

A Midland man remained in custody Wednesday after being arrested Tuesday for  allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, according to his arrest  affidavit.

James Duke Creel III, 30, is being held on a $100,000 bond for a  second-degree felony charge of sexual assault of a child.

A family member of the girl went to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office on  Feb. 4 and spoke to a sergeant there. The complainant said Creel allegedly gave  methamphetamine to a 14-year-old family member and sexually assaulted her,  according to the arrest report.

Investigators talked to the alleged victim, who said Creel invited her to his  home sometime after Thanksgiving but before Christmas break “to do meth.” The  alleged victim said she and Creel allegedly got high on meth and engaged in  sexual intercourse, according to the report.

If convicted, Creel could face up to 20 years in prison.
