Comments Off on More than $1 million in methamphetamine, cocaine seized after I.F. area traffic stop

Fifty-two pounds of methamphetamine and 27 pounds of cocaine with an estimated combined street value of $1 million to $1.2 million were seized from a U-Haul truck after a traffic stop Saturday about 2:07 a.m. on U.S. Highway 20 near Idaho Falls, according to Idaho State Police.

The truck driver was identified by his Honduras passport as Sergio Javier Varela-Vallecillo, 29. A passenger was identified by her Texas driver’s license as Felicia Inez Varela, 28. They were arrested and face felony charges of trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine. Varela-Vallecillo was also charged with failure to purchase a driver’s license. He was pulled over for failing to maintain the lane of travel.

They were taken to the Bonneville County Jail, where Felicia Inez Varela was found to have another 5 grams of methamphetamine, state police report. She was also charged with introducing methamphetamine into a correctional facility.
