Comments Off on Kent police arrest two women for allegedly making methamphetamine

Two Portage County women have been charged with making methamphetamine following their arrest Thursday on South Water Street in Kent.

Brittney M. Dye, 20, of 930 Carlisle Court, and Trista N. Wilson, 25, whom police said is homeless but whose last known address was 6615 Cleveland Road, Ravenna Township, were charged with one count each of illegal manufacturing of drugs, both second-degree felonies, and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, both third-degree felonies.

According to Kent police, Dye and Wilson were in possession of drain cleaner, lighter fluid, muriatic acid, ammonium nitrate and other chemicals and items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine during their arrest in the 500 block of South Water Street on Tuesday.

Arraigned Friday in Portage County Municipal Court in Ravenna, both women were ordered held in the Portage County jail on 10 percent of $50,000 bond, on the condition they not possess or consume any alcohol or illegal drugs if released.

Additional charges may be filed once the case is presented to a Portage County grand jury.
