Comments Off on Vincennes man arrested outside meth lab hotel room

A Vincennes man was arrested Sunday after police said they found nearly 500 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle parked outside a hotel room that was being used as a lab.

Elias A. Brock, 42, was arrested on preliminary charges of making and possessing methamphetamine, said Indiana State Police spokesman Todd Ringle.

Troopers “were assisting Vincennes Police with a meth lab that was discovered in a room at the Econo Lodge located at 600 Old Wheatland Road,” Ringle said in a news release. “While troopers were waiting for a search warrant for the motel room, (Brock) drove his vehicle into the parking lot. Troopers detected a chemical odor commonly associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.”

Police searched the car, Ringle said, and discovered ingredients commonly used to manufacture meth — along with about 448 grams of finished product. They arrested Brock and took him to the Knox County Jail, where he remained early today.
