CALDWELL — A Caldwell man has been sentenced to seven years in prison with three years fixed after he was found guilty of possession of methamphetamine while on probation for a 2005 conviction of sexual battery of a minor.

Todd Allen Butters, 40, will go back to prison after serving at least five years for his 2005 conviction of sexual battery. Judge Juneal C. Kerrick also ordered him to pay restitution for investigative costs, and Butters must complete a Therapeutic Community Treatment Program before being released from prison.

In December 2012, Butters was arrested by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office after a deputy said he discovered Butters with meth. At the time, the registered sex offender was also charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, but that charge was dismissed.
