MYSTIC — A couple is facing charges after police found meth-making ingredients during a search.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. Friday, members of the South Central Iowa Drug Task Force, Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office, Centerville Police Department and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotic search warrant at 301 N. Second St., Mystic. During the execution of the search warrant officers discovered items used in the hidden manufacture of methamphetamine.

As a result, Gary Molloy Black, 40, of Mystic, and Donna Marie West, 33, of Mystic, were arrested.

Black is charged with allegedly conspiring to manufacture more than five grams of methamphetamine, a class “B” felony, and four counts of child endangerment, aggravated misdemeanors.

West is charged with allegedly providing lithium for the manufacturing of methamphetamine, a class “D” Felony, and four counts of child endangerment, aggravated misdemeanors.

Black is being held in the custody of the Appanoose County Sheriff on a bond of $108,000. West is being held in the custody of the Appanoose County Sheriff on a bond of $13,000.
