HARTLY, Del. — A couple has been arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine inside a Hartly home.

State police say 39-year-old Paul Winters and his girlfriend, 45-year-old Dixie Cunningham, were arrested Tuesday by task force officers who went to their home to investigate possible meth production.

Police say Cunningham lied to officers about whether Winters was inside. He was found hiding in a closet. Police say Winters has outstanding warrants.

Police say the home was evacuated after they found the meth lab and that environmental crews contained the hazardous chemicals used to make the drug.

Police also say a juvenile was found in the home and is now staying with a relative. In addition to the drug and other charges, Cunningham and Winters are charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
