Comments Off on OPP Drug Warrants Lead To Arrests And Seizures Of Methamphetamine And Other Drugs In Mount Forest

WELLINTON NORTH TWP, ON – On Tuesday, April 16, 2013, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Wellington County OPP, and Wellington County Canine, executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants. The first search warrant was executed at a residence in Arthur, Wellington North. The second search warrant was executed at a residence in Mount Forest, Wellington North.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin, cannabis resin, and cannabis marihuana. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances from both search warrants was $10,387. Police also seized offence related property that consisted of trafficking equipment, along with $7,995 cash.

Jeff Smith aged 26 of Wellington North, and a young person were arrested and charged with 4 counts of Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Psilocybin, and Cannabis Marihuana each. Smith was also charged with 4 counts of Possession of Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Cannabis Marihuana, and Cannabis Resin contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Smith was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Guelph.

Kelsey Smith aged 21 of Wellington North, was arrested, charged, and released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking with 4 counts of Possession of Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Cannabis Marihuana, and Cannabis Resin contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on June 14, 2013 to answer to the charges.

Dan Giovannone aged 21 of Wellington North, was arrested and charged with 1 count of Possession of Cannabis Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was held in custody on warrants from Guelph.

Two other young persons were arrested, charged, and released on Promise to Appears and Officer in Charge Undertakings for 1 count each of Possession of Cannabis Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
