A North Vernon man was arrested on drug charges Saturday following a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 50 near County Road 450W in Jennings County.

 Major Jerry Shepherd, with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, says 36-year-old Christopher M. Hayden is charged with dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and violation of legend drug act.

 Shepherd says when deputies arrived around 4:10 p.m.; they found a car on its top lying on the railroad tracks north of U.S. 50 near County Road 450W. Hyden, who was the driver, was out of the car and sitting near the vehicle when deputies arrived. Hyden received minor injuries and was arrested after being checked by emergency personnel on scene. A deputy found over three grams of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia in individual bags.

 Hyden is lodged in the Jennings County Jail on his charges. No bond has been set at this time.
