An East Gadsden woman remains in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond after she was arrested Thursday on drug charges.
Misty Lynn Richardson, 33, was charged with possession of methamphetamine after imported ice, a more pure form of meth, was found at her home on Brookwood Drive.
Agents with the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit went to her home to investigate a complaint of illegal drug sales, Darron Walker, an agent with the DEU, said.
Agents went to the house Thursday morning to investigate the complaint and could see digital scales inside the home, Walker said.
They obtained a search warrant for the home and found the meth and some drug-related items, he said. They also found cash and a gun.
Richardson also was charged unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a government operation, both misdemeanors, Walker said. Two juveniles were at the house and turned over to family members.
Richardson has pending charges for first-degree hindering prosecution, a felony, after her alleged involvement in a robbery in Attalla in 2012, Attalla Police Chief Dennis Walker said.
