Chad Jeffery Johnson, 38, ran from police at about 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the 400 block of East Washington Street after he agreed to talk to them about an incident he witnessed, said Goshen Police Department spokeswoman Tina Kingsbury.

Johnson tried to go into a house on East Washington where he’d been allowed to stay and officers caught him, Kingsbury said.

They found a one-pot meth lab in his coat and 2 grams of finished methamphetamine on him.

Johnson was arrested and booked at the Elkhart County Jail without bond on preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement.
