Comments Off on Methamphetamine, drugs, children found in Sweetwater motel room in Monroe County; Anita Christina McLemore, Tellico Plains, arrested

A area woman was arrested in after a search turned up drugs and children in a motel room last Tuesday.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Dennis Graham said it was around 7:30 p.m. when he went to the hotel on New Highway 68 to serve a search warrant on Anita Christina McLemore, J. D. Farm Road, Tellico Plains.

Graham said he found McLemore and two children in the room and told her why he was there. Two officers assigned to watch McLemore briefly struggled with her as she fought to get away.

When officers searched the room, they allegedly found 13 baggies containing a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, digital scales, numerous baggies and two pills thought to be Hydrocodone.

On McLemore herself officers found two more baggies with a crystal substance also believed to be methamphetamine.

McLemore was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of Hydrocodone, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

The Department of Child Services was contacted about the children in the room.
