A woman was arrested after police say she brought methamphetamine to the Bellmead Police Department on Tuesday afternoon.

Stephanie Shalice Brown, 21, allegedly was involved in an argument about 2:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of La Vega Street, said Bellmead Police Detective Kory Martin.5500a4c490c48_image

Brown reportedly fell and was pushed by another person in the ensuing altercation but sustained no injuries, Martin said.

When Brown went to the police department to discuss the incident, Martin said officers believed she was “under the influence of a substance.

He added, “Her thoughts and subject of conversation was random and inconsistent. She brought a couple of bags into the police department with her and was acting as if she was nervous.”

Bellmead’s K-9, Zeta, was brought to check Brown’s bags, and the dog gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics, Martin said.

Officials found a small plastic baggy containing methamphetamine.

Brown was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

She remained in McLennan County Jail Wednesday afternoon on a $6,000 bond.
