A Palestine woman was arrested for trying to hide methamphetamine from a deputy during a traffic stop Monday evening.

Dana Rena Bledsoe, 49, Palestine was stopped by Dep. Michael Skinner at 11 p.m. Monday at FM 320 and ACR 420. 55401353bcc40_imageBledsoe was the only occupant of a dark blue Ford Escape.

While the officer had the car stopped, Bledsoe attempted to hide the methamphetamine in a clear plastic bag between the driver’s seat and console area, Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor said. Skinner recovered 1 gram of meth in the plastic bag.

Bledsoe went before a judge Tuesday morning and was charged with tampering with evidence and possession of methamphetamine. She has a $3,500 bond for tampering with evidence and $10,000 for possession of a controlled substance. She is still in jail and has not been able to pay the bond, Taylor said.
