MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) – An inmate and five others have been accused of being involved in a methamphetamine trafficking ring that was operated out of a state prison.

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds released a statement Monday saying that 40-year-old Douglas County inmate Alejandra Chaves and the others have been charged with various drug trafficking charges.

Chaves is also charged with two counts of terroristic threats, after officials say she threatened the life of a Cobb County Sheriff’s Office agent.

Reynolds says the other defendants in the case – Nancy V. Bravo, Wilmer L. Caballero, Nereida A. Cruz, Esther Guadarrama and Antonia P. Hurtado – delivered the drugs, while Chaves facilitated the sales in March 2014.

Arraignment dates have not been set.

It was not immediately clear if the defendants have hired attorneys
