SANTA FE  — An Edgewood man was booked into the Santa Fe County jail on Friday on two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, criminal sexual penetration of a minor and criminal sexual contact of a minor after police say he enticed two 14-year-old females to come to his house for alcohol and illegal drugs and had sex with one of them.JamesNuanes

According to a search warrant affidavit filed in First Judicial District Court, the Edgewood Police Department received an anonymous tip that  James Nuanes, 31, invited two underage females to go to his Edgewood home, where he told them there was a party and alcohol, on June 18. They were given illegal drugs and alcohol once at the home.

At some point in the evening, Nuanes approached one of the females and “grabbed her by the arm and took her into his room,” the affidavit states. The affidavit says that the two engaged in sexual intercourse on two separate occasions.

The two minors also drove with Nuanes to the Smith’s grocery store in Edgewood that night, where Nuanes was confronted by Edgewood police after purchasing alcohol, according to the affidavit.

Police seized several pieces of electronic equipment from the home that were believed to have video or photographic evidence of sexual activities with minors as well as two bags of suspected methamphetamine.

Nuanes is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
