Comments Off on Man, 24, arrested after Methamphetamine materials found in Norfolk Ocean View Inn hotel room

A 24-year-old Norfolk man is being held without bond Monday after he was arrested at a Norfolk hotel and accused of manufacturing methamphetamine, police said.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue, Norfolk Police detectives and Drug Enforcement Administration agents responded to the Ocean View Inn at 1020 E. Ocean View Avenue after an off-duty officer found the materials Saturday, according to a news release.

The officer, who was working part-time at the hotel, discovered three people in a hotel room with materials that are commonly used to produce meth, the release states.

All three people were detained, but two of them were later released without charges. The 24-year-old Norfolk man is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of two or more precursors-methamphetamine.

The man’s identity is being withheld at this time, as the investigation is on-going, the release states. No injuries were reported.
