(Ripley County, Ind.) – Three people are in jail after police found heroin, meth, and marijuana inside a Milan home along with children.

An Indiana State Police trooper went to the residence on the 100 block of Josephine Street in order to conduct a welfare check on a male that was possibly staying there, says ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles. While at the home, the trooper gained enough information to file for a search warrant.

Once inside the home with the search warrant, officers would allegedly find the drugs, syringes, paraphernalia, a large amount of currency, and a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

There were six children inside the drug-riddled house. The Indiana Department of Child Services took custody of them, Wheeles said.
