Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested five people and confiscated counterfeit money and drugs at a motel room in Hammond, authorities said Tuesday (Jan. 24). The drugs included methamphetamine and Hydrocodone, the sheriff’s office said.

Arrested were Glenn Dufrene, 38, of Ponchatoula; Robin Smith, 28, of Tickfaw; Jessica Ragan, 33, of Robert; Carla Manzella McGraw, 37, of Hammond; and Matthew Mckinley, 27, of Robert. They were booked into the Tangipahoa Parish jail on Wednesday (Jan. 18).

Deputies and Hammond Police officers executed a search warrant for a room at the Budget Inn in Hammond after an ongoing investigation revealed criminal activity was taking place there, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Mckinley violently resisted members of the warrant team, the release said.

Deputies seized methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia used to ingest methamphetamine, and numerous Klonopin and Hydrocodone tablets, the sheriff’s office said. A large sum of counterfeit money was recovered, along with electronic equipment necessary to manufacture the money, according to authorities.

The Secret Service was notified about the counterfeit money, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspects were booked as follows:

  • Jessica Ragan, of South Ochsner Road, Robert, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, money laundering, conspiracy to commit monetary instrument abuse and racketeering.
  •  Glenn Dufrene, of  Pinehill Drive, Ponchatoula, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, money laundering, conspiracy to commit monetary instrument abuse and racketeering.
  • Carla Manzella McGraw, of U.S. 190 West, Hammond, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, money laundering, conspiracy to commit monetary instrument abuse and racketeering.
  •  Matthew Mckinley, of South Ochsner Road, Robert, possession of drug paraphernalia,possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, money laundering, conspiracy to commit monetary instrument abuse, racketeering, battery of a police officer and resisting an officer by force or violence.
  • Robin Smith, of Lisa Drive, Hammond, warrants on seven counts of failing to appear, possession of a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, money laundering, conspiracy to commit monetary instrument abuse.
