LEXINGTON — Two California women were booked in Dawson County Jail this morning after allegedly being found in possession of one pound of methamphetamine.

According to a Dawson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Christine Face and Jamie Thomas, both 37, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The spokesperson said that at about 12:45 a.m. today, Thomas allegedly failed to stop at Highway 283 and Plum Creek Parkway in Lexington. An officer pulled over the vehicle near the eastbound on-ramp to Interstate-80 and made contact with Thomas and Face, who was the passenger in the vehicle, the spokesperson said.

Thomas’ license was allegedly revoked, the spokesperson said, so the officer asked Thomas if there were any drugs in the vehicle. The officer then searched the vehicle, and allegedly found less than one ounce of marijuana and a pound of methamphetamine, the spokesperson said.

Sheriff Gary Reiber said Thomas was also charged with no operator’s license.

According to a Dawson County Court spokesperson, Thomas and Face were to be arraigned today.
