TOWN OF UNION (WBNG) — Two women were arrested after the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant Wednesday night at a motel on East Main Street in the Town of Union.

The SIU Task Force found Ashley Backus, 32, of Binghamton and Jonna Cassidy, 28, of Endwell, with three plastic baggies of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, glassine envelopes and plastic packing bags.

They were also arrested for selling meth to another person on a different day in Binghamton.

Backus has been charged with the following:
-Criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony
-Three counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, class A misdemeanors
-Unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation

Cassidy has been charged with the following:
-Two count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, class B felonies
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony
-Three counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, class A misdemeanors
-Unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation

Backus and Cassidy are being held at the Binghamton Police Department pending arraignment.
