MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) — Two people are behind bars after deputies say they were making meth in a motel room.

Officers with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office say they got a tip that meth was being made or used in a room at the Inez Motel on Monday night.

Deputies say they were granted consent to search the room after seeing two ingredients used to manufacture meth in plain view.

Deputies say the found a meth lab under a sink vanity in the bathroom of the motel room. They also found a white powdery substance, two rock like substances and crystal like substances in that same area.

Alexis Williams, 24, of Piketon, Ohio, and Nicholas Ward, 39, of Inez, Kentucky, were both arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Ward was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, since deputies say he had a needle and marijuana seeds in his pocket.

Both are currently being held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
