CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A woman was arrested in a meth bust after she was caught in a vehicle that was traveling over 90 miles per hour on Interstate 64.

Melody Sue Legg, 42, is charged with possession with intent to deliver.

It happened near mile marker 29 on I-64 around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to the criminal complaint, officers say they saw a red Nissan Altima going 90 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone via a radar.

The officer noticed a large amount of cash in plain view in the console.

Investigators asked the driver if there was anything else that needed to be known, and the driver says there may be some marijuana roaches.

The front passenger, Legg, and the other passengers got out of the vehicle.

Legg told troopers she wad meth in her purse.

West Virginia State Police troopers found 22 grams of meth in her purse, along with multiple empty plastic baggies and one set of digital scales.

Troopers also found over $5000 in cash.

During an interview, Legg admitted she had more methamphetamine on her and pulled out two more bags of meth, which equals 2.5 grams, and a bag of marijuana, troopers say.

WVSP say 24 grams of meth can range from $10,000-$12,000 in street value.

Legg is being held in Western Regional Jail on a $30,000 bond.
